Kika Tapas

Paying homage to the classic Pedro Almodóvar character, this 126-seat Spanish tapas joint from the dudes behind Tapeo/ Solea rocks a retro-y "Brazil circa 1970" vibe with a long white quartz bar, bold red/black banquettes stitched w/ random lettering, a magazine-clipping collage of Almodóvar's filmography, and even a giant pair of Kika's legs on the wall. Foodwise, they've got an extensive lineup of pintxos (Galician-style octopus w/ paprika & olive oil, marinated fresh anchovy filets) plus pork sausage/ foie gras/ poached apples in a fig & port wine sauce, and Basque garlic-glazed chicken thighs, which are good, but can't compete with Kika's. Me-ow.
