Food and drink from a pair who know how to party

Because all that time at Hair Reaction and Robere's Jewelers would make anyone thirsty, Twisted has just popped up in Torrey Highlands to offer you a welcome distraction from getting all those perms with indoor and patio dining, an L-shaped bar, and a locally sourced/globally inspired menu put together by a seasoned restaurant vet and a dude who just came off a 16yr stint opening nightclubs around the world, ironically patronized by people who refused to eat for a chance at getting in.

For the early risers, they have a special weekend brunch with vittles like Big Baked Pancakes with peanut butter, bananas, and bacon, while lunch/ dinner's delightfully varied with sandos like the Twisted BLT with lemon herb mayo/ bacon jam, a selection of flatbreads, and full plates like slow-roasted pork with mashed sweet potatoes, achiote-orange mojo, and spicy fruit salsa that's a hell of a lot smoother than spicy fruit Electric Slide. Because they're slightly obligated by their name, the menu's stocked with 20 boutique, family-produced vinos/ bubblies by the glass, ranging from Paso's Stacked Stone's Quarry Meritagem, to Attems Pinot Grigio from Friulli, Italy, but hop-heads will feel right at home with four taps continuously spewing selections from Ballast Point and a number of revolving "eclectic beers" like Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (from the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world) and Wells Banana Bread Beer, which sounds absolutely nutty.

If you prefer your drink poured at home because you're shy and like cats, their retail space in the front is slinging 28 additional wines like a Pinot Noir from Napa's Hundred Acre winery called "Cherry Pie", though you may want to avoid getting it all over your teeth unless you're looking for a Neu Look...professional med spa.
