Third time, even more charms

Because good things come in threes, like Amigos, and Dog Nights, ready your palate for Barceloneta: a Euro-style bistro soft opening next Tuesday from the Pubbelly guys, whose third property is reminiscent of an upscale picnic, if that picnic was very much not-outside, thanks to an expansive low-lit /high-ceiling'd lodge-ish main room with oversized tables, stone-/wood-lined walls, and a giant bar, which Rip Torn is on record as calling "the smallest bar I've ever seen."

The Eats: Going all-out tapas-style this time with a "heavy influence of Spain's region of Catalonia", the menu's broken into two sections including "Bistro", which packs plates like Caracoles a la Launa (escargot/puff pastry smothered in garlic and alioli), a clams/ sobrasada/ pork belly/ alioli verde noodle paella, and squid ink meatballs with baby cuttlefish and sofrito. Then, move over to the "Mercat" stuff, where you'll find imported cheeses and cured meats, a raw bar with Cape Cod little neck clams, a 1lb whole yellowfish snapper, and even an 18oz rib eye from Meyer Ranch, also what Urban calls all Doritos in the blue bag, because that dude is mad greedy.

The Drinks: Combat frustration over Urban Meyer's childish Doritos antics with 35+ wines, suds like Estrella Damm Draft, Scotches (e.g., Macallan 12 and Oban 14), plus cocktail creations including martinis such as the Azafran with saffron-infused vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice, egg white, and sugar, and the Spanish Mule with lime, angostura, Domaine de Canton, and Cardenal Mendoza, enough of which will surely send your hitting on women well over the line, yet still well short of Rip Torn's.
