A beloved burger spot reproduces off the beach

Two is generally better than one: two eyes give you better depth perception, having two spaceships in Galaga doubles your firepower, and boobs. For a beloved eatery making it two, hit Burger & Beer Joint Brickell.

After a rousing success on South Beach, B&B's popping open another location in Mary Brickell Village, this one with an open kitchen & more spacious dining area and an industrial-meets-Americana appeal (diamond-plate, brick walls aplenty, old highway signage and gas tanks), all while keeping the concept of serving burgers topped with stuff normally reserved for fancy-pants places, which're the worst, cause hey, you should wear Skidz if you want to, man! Despite the name, there's more than just burgers (and beers), including the hot Octane Wings (slow-braised organic chicken fried with tempura flour), battered 'n' fried dill pickles with buttermilk ranch, and a monstrosity with hickory-smoked pork belly bacon covered in grade-A Vermont maple syrup called Pig In A Bucket, which if popular, will lead to a sequel: Pig In A Coffin. To construct your own burger, choose meat (8 or 16oz patties of free-range beef, kobe, or turkey), bun (ciabatta, whole wheat, brioche), cheese (goat, jalapeno jack, Maytag blue...), and toppings like truffle demi, 1/2 a lobster tail, or foie gras; you can also go with pre-concocted numbers like the Ahi/cucumber-jalapeno salsa/garlic mayo Turning Japanese -- a steady diet of them will make you big in Japan, and also everywhere else.

For that whole beer thing, you're looking at 99 bottles, with domestic choices like Shipyard Old Thumper and Left Hand Milk Stout, plus imports like Orkney Skullsplitter from Scotland, France's Belzebuth 13%, and from England, a Blacksheep ale called Holy Grail -- also what you used to consider doubling up on Galaga, until you got to base number two.
